5 Simple Things To Do When You Feel Unmotivated

Set Small, Achievable Goals:

Find Your "Why":

  • Reflect on why you wanted to start or pursue this task or goal in the first place. Reconnecting with your underlying reasons can reignite your motivation. I watched a documentary recently and a man in his 40’s was pursuing a new career path, he was asked why he chose that path and he had 2 simple reasons. One was to make himself proud and build the future he dreamt of, and the other was his parents. He wanted to give back for all they had done for him. Everyone has a why, your why” should be the motivating factor to push you back up. 

Change Your Environment:

  • Sometimes a change of scenery can make a big difference. Move to a different room, work in a coffee shop, or go for a walk. Changing your environment can help shift your perspective and boost motivation. If it means changing location temporarily or even a big move altogether, go for it. Do not be scared to take those big risks. 

Take Breaks and Rest:

  • Overworking or constant stress can lead to burnout and reduced motivation. Schedule regular breaks, get enough sleep, and engage in activities that relax and rejuvenate you. Avoid putting too much pressure on yourself. Set realistic goals and work towards them at a pace that works for you.
